How a daily content habit led me to a best-selling book...

One of the habits I'm working on this year is returning to my daily content habit. Where I start my day with 25 minutes of writing on a prompt or tackling a small part of a bigger content project.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's the exact same process I used to finally write my book (Your Content Rebellion) and publish it in 2020.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I put off starting it for years because it felt too big, too complicated and I kept waiting for the ""right"" moment to actually start it. But after failing on that goal for so many years in a row, I decided to try something different and over the course of 6ish months, on and off, finished it in teeny tiny 25 minute daily sprints.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is the same process I've used to create courses, presentations, sequences and more. It's versatile and works because it makes a HUGE project feel bite-sized before you know it. It's done.

A big mistake I see people making with their content (and it's something that EVERYONE does) is keeping content on their to-do list.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now, this doesn't mean I'm saying don't DO content but since the content is something you create more than once, it's much better treated like a habit than a one-and-done task (there's nothing more discouraging than checking something off only to have it pop right back up like some kind of whack-a-mole you can't get rid of).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So treat it like a habit and give it a place and time in your day (or week).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For me this looks like, starting my day by creating content for 25 minutes. After I'm done that 25 minutes, I'm done for the day and I start my day with a huge win and create something before I start consuming other people's information.

Here are 3 ways to make it happen:⁠

#1 - Go through past posts and add them to a content bank, reshare these⁠
⁠
#2 - Go through your bigger pieces of content and pull out snippets or tips to turn into social media posts⁠
⁠
#3 - Create a daily content habit where you take a prompt each day and write on it. Then share it.⁠
⁠
Take 20 minutes today and pull together 7 posts and schedule them out for the week.

Likely, at the start it felt really hard. Maybe so hard to the point that you didn't think you'd ever get it.⁠
⁠
But then it started to click and gradually you got better and better at it. And it actually felt easy.⁠

The same hard-to-easy learning curve happens with your content too.⁠
⁠
Because while it's all well and good for breaking out those fancy new AI tools to assist you with your writing, if you want writing that sounds like you and connects to your audience, you're still gonna need to know how to create content (and how to edit content especially).⁠

And the best way to do that is to practice. And my surefire way is to establish some kind of daily content habit. A small chunk of time where you create something. The more you do, the easier it'll feel and the better the content will become too.⁠

Here’s the problem: it shouldn’t be a task at all. ⁠

Instead of looking at 'creating content' as a to-do list task, can you start to see it as a habit instead?⁠

For me, this looks like spending 25 minutes before I officially even start my work day creating 1 piece of content (or working on 1 small section of a bigger content project).⁠

I decide on the WHAT beforehand (aka the prompts) and I spend an hour or so at the end of the week, reviewing all my writing and turning it into publishable posts.⁠
⁠
It's the same strategy that's helped me:⁠
* Get rain-or-shine consistent with my blog⁠
* Write a best-selling book (even after putting it off for YEARS)⁠
* Create 3 new products last year⁠
* Knock out funnels in a week or less (like my forever funnel, my evergreen funnels, welcome funnels and more)⁠

And more.⁠

It's made me seem a whole lot more productive than I actually am.⁠
